Year 3

Well, what an exciting half term we have had!

Year 3 have recently enjoyed a trip to a Celtic Village!

We had a day full of hands on fun and learning whilst helping our resident Celts on their mission to find their lost leader and keep their Celtic village running.

In fierce war paint and tunics, we explored the woods and get stuck into building a second roundhouse using traditional wattle and dorbing techniques.

Our Celtic warriors taught us about Celtic art. We created our own shield designs and moulded clay thumb pots.

We were also invited inside the roundhouse for a look around and to learn even more about the Celts.

Next half term we will be looking at our city of Liverpool. We will be focusing on how it has changed over the years and the importance of trade. We will be celebrating a Fair Trade day, which will be filled with lots of baking, making smoothies and developing our atlas skills.

We look forward to sharing your research projects when you return to school!

In English we will be writing our very own sea adventure stories and in Maths we will be developing our measuring skills in order to build our very own ship!!
